The smooth trapdoor buttplate was neatly refinished and there is a crack at the toe both left and right which could easily be arrested. It shows a rounded left side cheekpiece and a small plug atop the comb where there was no doubt once a removable Monte Carlo added. The checkered walnut round knob pistolgrip buttstock rates excellent as very lightly, very neatly refinished years ago. The bottom metal is drifting a bit while the triggerguard and is toning to plum. The bolt catch and cartridge release show some pale purple-straw color with the bolt body and handle showing strong original blue. The barreled action retains 97% excellent quality restored rust blue, the loss is due only to even fading, the bright-polished raceways of the receiver still brilliant.
